Emery Gluck is a visual artist living in New Orleans. She graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree as a Studio Art major and minors in Business and Art History.
Emery's work finds inspiration in memory and the bittersweet experience of remembrance, in which some events are hidden or latent, but others are persistently clear. Her process involves creating "windows", small pockets that reveal a glimpse of a gesture or color that is underneath multiple layers of paint. These initial gestures begin with her own memories, but Emery's hope is that the marks that evolve from her own thoughts may evoke new feelings for the viewer, allowing them to find rich meaning of their own.
